Просто не мога да излезна от ритъма, старата тръпка Antipop Consortium е по-силна от всякога. А "Shine" се очертава да се слуша много, много дълго време, просто космично много време. Изобщо, целият "Fluorescent Black" от 2009 година е неудържимо здрав hip-hop албум, разбира се, с всички electro, абстрактности, и хващащи "кукички", просто уникалния Antipop Consortium стил. Is There Anybody Out There? - I'm Not There (English)

For some time this is the song. The version that made Sonic Youth is somehow a bit darker, bemused, than the original of the great, unique (yes, you read correctly) Bob Dylan. Perfect composition, just does not want to go out of my head, and I'm not sure, that I want to let her go. Why not, to let her "grow", what is better than one composition to become part of you, so somehow, like that, by itself, at once, without asking you. I think that you know, what this is about - the real thing remains true, forever, and sometimes back to touch you, because you need them. And this definitely touched me, for the time being I prefer this version of the song, somehow she got a slight nostalgia, and I need it. See you soon. I'm still not there.

От известно време това е песента. Версията която правят Sonic Youth е някак малко по-мрачна, вглъбена, от оригиналната на великия, неповторимия (да, правилно си прочел) Bob Dylan. Перфектна композиция, просто не иска да излезе от главата ми, а не съм сигурен, че и аз искам да я пусна да си отиде. Защо пък, да не я оставя да "порасте", какво по-хубаво от това една композиция да стане част от теб, някак си, ей така, от само себе си, от раз, без да те пита. Мисля че се сещаш, за какво става въпрос - истинските неща остават истински, завинаги, и понякога се завръщат да те докоснат, защото имаш нужда от тях. А това определено ме докосна, засега предпочитам тази версия, някак си има лека носталгия, и ми е необходима. До скоро. I'm still not there.

Review: Amon Tobin - "Surge" EP' 2011 (English)

Brazilian IDM, glitch, trip-hop, as you called it, still be true, electro master Amon Tobin make four song EP', which sounds like... Amon Tobin. His tendency to release EP's or mini albums, is there again, and I admit, he made a good mini albums.
Schizophrenic with noise, synthesizers blips and subversive, oppressive atmosphere, in which even Boards Of Canada would be envy and asked for in the title "Surge". Two-minute "sick" IDM aesthetics with light 8bit electronics, and sounds like a house full of ghosts on tranquillizers.
The second "Surge" (Two Fingers Remix) keeps schizophrenic nature, but this electro happens onto trip-hop basis, and "ghosts" seemed enliven and dancing eating ice cream, ha-ha. Two Fingers are Amon Tobin and Joe "Doubleclick" Chapman.
Strange sounding, but it is still Amon Tobin - the king of sophisticated darkness in electro music. In this composition you can still feel - decayed dub beats and retro 8bit arcade sound for background.

Бразилския IDM, glitch, trip-hop, както искаш го наречи, все ще е вярно, electro майстор Amon Tobin прави четири песенно EP', което звучи като... Amon Tobin. Слабостта му да издава EP'-та или мини албуми, отново е налице, и признавам, той прави добри мини албуми.
Шизофренично с noise, клавирни блипкания и подмолна, тягостна атмосфера, на която дори Boards Of Canada биха завидели и поискали в заглавната "Surge". Двуминутна "болна" IDM естетика с лека 8bit електроника, и звуци като от къща пълна с духове на транквиланти.
Втората "Surge" (Two Fingers Remix) запазва шизофреничната същност, но electro-то се случва върху trip-hop основа, а "духовете" сякаш се освестяват и танцуват ядейки сладолед, ха-ха. Two Fingers са Amon Tobin и Joe "Doubleclick" Chapman.
Странно звучене, но това все пак е Amon Tobin - царя на изискания мрак в electro музиката. В тази композиция още може да усетиш - разложен dub бийт и ретро 8bit аркаден звук за фон.

Jay-Jay Johanson is born in Trollhatton, Sweden in 1969. His music is melancholic, sometimes, other times happy-ironic. Accepted is in itself the things of Nick Drake and Nick Cave, a mixture mixed with beautiful piano melodies and miniatures. Do not doubt, that this album has them these defining his music components. The lyrics are heavy - for the general human anguish, love, loneliness. Look at some songs titles from his new double album "Spellbound" - "Shadows"; "The Girl I Love Is Gone"; "Out Of Focus"; "She Doesn't Live Here Anymore"; "Suicide Is Painless"; "The Thrill Is Gone"; "My Mothers Grave"; "She's Mine But I'm Not Hers"; "I'm Older Now" - which directly refer to minor thoughts, and although their names they are among the best songs in the album. The album is double, as I mentioned, the second disc is called "Looking Glass (New Acoustic Versions)", and as understood by its name, contains mostly acoustic pieces.
There are stunning acoustic guitars, beautiful piano, which attracts your soul with each every chord. Feels also light jazz atmosphere, plus great music-making, that can not go unnoticed. And in "Blind" is almost surely, that you can mess up and you wonder, whether Nick Drake is resurrected and reincarnated in Jay-Jay Johanson.

The initial song from new album of Farewell Continental, which is named "Seasoned Veterans" with nothing to give a hint of energetic music happening in the remaining 13 compositions. Amit makes interesting music - it is both darkly-paranoid, and is both impact and strong. Amit прави интересна музика - хем е мрачно-параноична, хем е блъскаща и силна. Първата композиция е нещо като интро - едноминутна goa, psychedelic и с наративния глас на участващата в няколко песни тук гост певица Rani. Имайки предвид втората "Prypyat" тя е нещо като шизоиден увод, защото "Prypyat" е параноиден dubstep, darkstep с уводни думи от руска говорителка, която съобщава за току що взривилата се атомна електроцентрала в руския град Чернобил. Съобщавайки го с леко стереотипен глас, без грам емоция в гласа. И оттам се почва с един среднотемпов breakbeat ритъм, фон от атмосферични семпли, които сякаш те придружават в спускането ти към недрата на Земята. И нещото което ми направи впечатление в целия албум - доброто използване на техниката при дръм програминга. На места в албума, ударните звучат дори по-добре от живо изсвирени. Да, зависи от кой са изсвирени, ще си кажеш, и ще си прав. Но не може да се отрече плътния звук, който е постигнал Amit с помощта на техниката. Парчето завършва отново с руската говорителка, която дава инструкции, как да се действа при създалото се бедствие.

Rock 'n' roll, indie rock state of mind. The whole "Urban Hymns" of The Verve is masterpiece, book of emotions, plenty of devotion. Richard Ashcroft is pure talented musician. And this is to my inner muse - Hey my infinite fascination. I know, I will catch you gently, you shiny butterfly. Cause when mind work, nobody can't let me down. And I know, that I will always have you, always will feel you, as in many times when we were one.

Rock 'n' roll, indie rock състояние на ума. Целият "Urban Hymns" на The Verve е шедьовър, книга на емоциите, изобилие от преданост. Richard Ashcroft е истински талантлив музикант. А това е до моето вътрешно вдъхновение - Хей, мое безкрайно очарование. Аз знам, ще те уловя нежно, ти ярка пеперуда. Защото когато ума работи, никой не може да ме разочарова. И знам, че винаги ще те има, винаги ще те усещам, така както в многото пъти когато сме били едно цяло.
