1. Atari Teenage Riot - "Is This Hyperreal?" (Digital Hardcore Recordings) (Dim Mak Records) (2011)
There have: After 11-year silence, digital electro, noise, cyber punk "hooligans" Atari Teenage Riot is finally here. 10 pieces of noisy-cultural-musical revolution. Several bright guest appearances by Steve Aoki; CX Kidtronik (participate in the Nine Inch Nails).
"Activate!" (Feat. CX Kidtronik) is a typical Atari Teenage Riot opener. Gabba-hardcore-digital-political-punk-revolution.
This version of the album was released by the label Dim Mak Records, created and driven by Steve Aoki. With him, they plant a new energetic cyber, electro, noise strike to the chin of the music industry. You remember a time, when they make revolution and scandals with his first noisy audio strikes - "1995" (1995) and "The Future Of War" (1997) - released in the emblematic label of Alec Empire - Digital Hardcore Recordings.
Atari Teenage Riot are always "breathing" loud music, which processed by them properly becomes music for mass exposure. If you wondered how practically a style breakcore was born, and what are some of the pioneers, and you will find them here. Along with names like Christoph De Babalon and Ec8or also issuing of Digital Hardcore Recordings, they are prototypes. Emblematic of the style label, with emblematic of the style artists.
The latter till now works of KMFDM are not particularly successful, and Atari Teenage Riot are hit the right formula and show them how it should sound in 2011. Infectious Ministry guitar riffs. "Shadow Identity" is abnormally cool electro, hear a synths at the end and atmosphere that create, it will "hit" you enough. "Who do you want to be, and why?", they ask questions.
Happy-hardcore-digital-punk-drum 'n' bass-jungle-noise just as Atari Teenage Riot may happen in "Collapse Of History". Beautiful complete album composition, that ends with a speech of robot, which explains that we must free our minds.
Compositions that stand out:
- "Activate!" (Feat. CX Kidtronik)
- "Blood In My Eyes"
- "Black Flags" (Feat. Jeff Aug)
- "Is This Hyperreal?"
- "Codebreaker" (Feat. Steve Aoki)
- "Shadow Identity"

2. An Horse - "Walls" (Grand Hotel Van Cleef) (2011)
There have: Killer opening track - "Dressed Sharply". They are from Australia. Australia is a fabulous country. Sometimes they sound as very melodic The Vaccines. Energetic indie rock is elevated to a songful pedestal, where you collide with lyrics about the power of the spirit, the difficulties, caused by the wandering of talented minds; for nature, for passion, love. Guitar live their lives and are really passionate and charming, and the voice of Kate Cooper can be melodic, hyping, telling stories and gentle.
They were on tour with Death Cab For Cutie; Cage The Elephant and other major names in the indie rock scene.
Rhythm section is the "smashing" as for indie rock group. You may feel a new wave elements, if you compare them to The Cure, however, they sound sometimes with the same compelling pathos, but they are more energetic, and seemed not to dwell so much in the depressive atmosphere. Although the lyrics aren't about partying and carefree life.
You have available one great album - with wise lyrics, charming melodies, solid rhythm section. And the indie rock scene has been enriched by one more gem with its own light. Do not miss to hear it, it is worth every little second. It blows you away with devotion and melody, and good production.
The sad beauty is majestic in melodies and lyrics of An Horse. "I could count the birds all around me. There must be a storm at the sea" - fantastic lyrics in "Windows In The City".
"Oh my God, i tick-tock for you. Oh my God, i tick-tock for you, but you never come true. Cause what would i do?. I shout it out, i'll shout it out. The batteries dead and the tracks run out"- a cheerful wit in "Trains And Track".
And since as I said, it is worth every little second. Therefore - all songs are good.
Compositions that stand out:
- "Dressed Sharply" (much more than a good choice for opener of album)
- "Not Mine"
- "Airport Death"
- "Know This, We've Noticed"
- "Trains And Tracks"
- "Walls"
- "Brain On A Table"
- "100 Whales"
- "Leave Me"
- "Windows In The Sea"
- "Swallow The Sea"
- "Tiny Skeletons"
Where with a text, when with a melody, stick directly into my mind, and I sing along while I listen. Do not miss it, this is a precious record. Of those who remain in the minds and often return to them, because the music inside enriched you. Another one direct pretender for album of the year in my own chart. This album straight blew me and smashed me of fun.

3. GaBLé - "CuTe HoRSe CuT" (Loaf Recordings) (2011)
There have: What doesn't. There are "crazy" samples - pots, plates, forks, dogs, flutes, donkey, organ, baby piano, watches, bi-bop, vacuum cleaner, motors, noise, cello. This is a lo-fi rock with a lot of samples, glitch, good tight sounding drums, where they exist, and noise - urban, musical, abstractive. GaBLé are Frenchmen. The album has overall 19 compositions. Some are only 30 seconds, transform in one minute craziness, of up to 4 minutes, which is the last on the album.
Experiment is full, think about Stereolab as abstractedness and low fidelity. But there are infectious melody as "uNBeaTable".
You will hear else jazz, indie rock and weird texts sort of - "Hit me from the differents angle, it's all help escape the tangle."
Chaotic lo-fi indie rock is the definition fitting well sometimes. This is also an experimental lo-fi rock, not some pretentious shit. This is Noise, samples, peculiar lyrics and all this, served very compact, collected in 19 compositions. Sometimes it is very difficult to collect ideas, flowing from you. So Frenchmen GaBLé have done so, for a general pleasure of experimental minds. Wonderful will fill time capsule until a new Stereolab. Even will be remembered. And it can not be otherwise, given that, that there are such samples, introverted-ingenious pieces like "CYaNuRe", which is crammed with such furious tranquilizers at the end and finally makes you "sublime". If you like the song scheme verse-chorus-verse-solo or otherwise, you'll be totally disappointed. This thing is not subject to framing and therefor this is one of a wonderful lo-fi, experimental album, which still to be priced by the press and fans listened to such music.
After three albums and one EP', this is their fourth album.
"Broken instruments, the orchestra is end" - it is from "THe SToNE aND THe WoLF", where the main characters are musical instruments, presented as a family. Do you notice the names of the songs, right, exactly be written and GaBLé are so have chosen.
Another hitting, ecstatic guitar supreme atmosphere in "SaMBa De La MueRTe". Many elements reminiscent of Architecture In Helsinki. Goofy names for songs. Cello solos in "Too FaT To FaRT To FiGHT". Pleasantly wild affair. This is a lo-fi magic. Suit hand painted clothes, puts colored curved frame glasses, and mandatory in the ears to sound GaBLé.
Me, I like it enough, and such music you cannot hear in the club where you go, you know.
Compositions that stand out:
- "BuNCH"
- "BRiCK TRiCK"
- "WHo TeLLS You?"
- "UNBeaTable"
- "CYaNuRe"
- "Day"
- "0000"
- "THe SToNe aND THe WoLF"
- "SaMBa De La MueRTe"
- "PiLLS"
- "GHoST HoST"
- "Too FaT To FaRT To FiGHT"
